KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander I, 498-454 BC. Oktadrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 27.56 g), 492-480/79 BC. Horseman, wearing chlamys and petasos, holding two javelins and walking slowly to right behind horse bridled right; on the flank of the horse, kerykeion brand. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Asyut -. Raymond pl. 2, 4 (same dies). SNG ANS 1. Sharply struck and clear. Large crack going through most of the flan and with some scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
